When I received an email titled “CONGRATULATIONS: YTECH 100 HONOREE” from The Future Project @tfaafrica, some days ago, I simply unread the email and moved on.

It wasn’t until two days later I checked again and there it was, staring at me.

I typically struggle with compliments when they are directed at me; I never really know how to respond.

With awards, I just ignore altogether.

So I don’t enter for awards, neither do I Plaqad. For me, the focus has always been the work, recognition takes the back burner.

Yet I must thank The Future Project for recognizing me as one of the top 100 Nigerians shaping the future of Tech in Africa.

What we do at Plaqad is such important work — helping brands and individuals get seen and heard and helping content creators of all kinds, influencers and publishers monetise their platforms and unlock new value, all by leveraging technology.

Plaqad sits at the intersection of media, marketing and technology.

As Nigeria’s largest community of content creators and influencers — grown by over 5000 in the last four weeks alone — we have paid out to close to 200 Million Naira in two years and are poised to do even more.

The road is indeed long, the work is challenging but the impact makes it all worth it and recognitions like this show we are creating a dent already.

Plaqad is on to something big. So whether you’re a brand or individual, content creator or influencer, blogger or just someone who wants to be heard, there’s no better time to join the Plaqad train — plaqad.com.
