Yesterday, I announced my intention to… oh no, not to contest an election. I’m launching a “not boring” business newsletter. I also shared one of my three reasons for doing that. If you missed the post, click here to see it.

Now to the second reason.

2. Curiosity. And business opportunities.

I’m guilty of consuming every kind and format of content.

My favorite formats are newsletters and video documentaries, in almost every niche.

But what I’m most curious about is business.

I like to discover and learn about not-so-common businesses.

I even have a place where I collect interesting business ideas…you know how some people collect art, cars, wine, etc.

You’re probably like that too. You collect new ideas and research them further.

For example, to most people, cow dung is useless, a waste.

You on the other hand may already know that cow dung is useful for biogas production, renewable natural gas, fertilizer, and more.

You might also know that India imports around half of its natural gas needs — money flowing abroad, which the government would rather see spent at home.

So to spur the Indian biogas industry, from 2025 the Indian government has ordered gas suppliers to blend natural gas with 1% biomethane. They plan to raise it to 5% by 2028.

The government wants more of the three million tonnes of cow dung produced every day by Indian cattle to be made into methane.

Now that’s a business opportunity.

And ordinary citizens are already tapping into it.

One Baljit Singh, a farmer from Punjab, recognized the potential of converting cow dung and other farm waste to biogas and began collecting it from his farm. He also persuaded other farmers to sell theirs to him.

Today, Singh’s business has grown and now employs around 200 people.

Singh is not alone.

The other day, I saw people selling cow dung on eBay for $40 per pack.

Now, is this information of any value to you? Probably not.

But do you now know that there is a growing business opportunity in collecting, packaging, and selling cow dung? Yes.

That is the second reason you should subscribe to the business newsletter I’m launching.

It will spark your curiosity about different business opportunities, spur you to research them further, and decide where to go from there.

If you’re curious about how mundane, everyday things make money.

Or if you’ve ever asked yourself, “What’s this business about?” “How does this business work?” or “How much revenue can this business generate in a month?” then you should subscribe to UNTITLED.

P.S.

I plan to send out the newsletter's first edition this Thursday, October 17th, 2024.
