Plaqad is three today and I couldn’t be prouder

Today, Plaqad celebrates its 3rd year anniversary.

We launched Plaqad in April 2017 to connect individuals and organisations looking to get the word out about their products, services and ideas with content creators, publishers and influencers who want to earn revenue to keep their platforms running and great content to engage their audience.

Plaqad in three years

Today, we have:

  • Placed 25000 pieces of content on all the major platforms you know
  • Built the largest influencer and creator community — 15K Programme Members as at today Monday 4th May 2020 and 10X the size when we celebrated our first year anniversary in April 2018.
  • Paid out over N200 million on hundreds of campaigns
  • Reached several millions of people through our campaigns
  • Released Sub-Saharan Africa’s only influencer compensation report
  • Launched a campus influencer programme that now has over 5000 members
  • And a Francophone influencer community in February 2020 which now has 500 plus members among others.

We have grown to become a leading service provider in the marketing technology space and we are very well on our way to achieving even more.

Our Influencer Compensation Report has also become the go-to guide for CEOs, CMOs, Entrepreneurs, Researchers, Consultants, Brand Managers and Experts, Journalists, Regulatory bodies and other industry stakeholders looking to better understand how influencer compensation works.

The Plaqad Francophone community, our exclusive programme for influencers and content creators in Francophone Africa created to ease the process of finding and collaborating with credible influencers in Francophone countries is already thriving and helping brands seamlessly collaborate with influencers in the region.

This is another way we continue to live our mission of giving everyone (brands and individuals) an opportunity to make their voices heard.

In addition, the Plaqad Campus Ambassador Program has been a remarkable success. Today we have over 5000 young, savvy digital natives in all leading universities and polytechnics across Nigeria who now work with brands to reach a much younger demographic especially the Gen Zs.

At a time like this, when people worldwide are learning to adjust to the realities of covid19, my optimism and confidence in the power of influencer marketing as the most effective, empathetic, authentic and relatable way to reach millions of customers is unbounded.

On our part, we are working round the clock to deliver a more advanced platform that efficiently takes care of all your marketing needs from influencer and content creator discovery to the selection, management, payment, and tracking or measurement of your campaigns.

The goal of providing businesses with a one-stop marketing platform remains solid and I’m glad to let you know that we are closer to it than we have ever been.

As we celebrate Plaqad at three, I feel privileged when I look back at the journey of these significant and remarkable years and how Plaqad has emerged as one of the top platforms for PR and marketing.

The reputation that we have earned is well-deserved as we have earned it after a lot of toils. For this, my sincere thanks go to my loyal and incredible team.

Our sincere gratitude also goes out to all our clients, old and new without whom we would not be here today.

There is another development at Plaqad I would like to share with you.

At Plaqad, we believe people who work at the company should also be able to become its owners as well.

We are in the process of implementing programs that will empower each employee to become a co-owner and make decisions about the future of the company.

Already we have set aside four (4) million shares to be allotted to Plaqad employees.

We believe that adding new partners from within the company will help foster a culture of ownership, enabling sustained dynamic growth during these upcoming years.

In closing, the last three years have been incredible and I have never been more sure about the future of Plaqad than I am today.

Our vision is broader but our mission remains the same.

I am excited about the next few months and years in Plaqad and knowing that you all: our partners, clients, and community members are with us reassures us of success.
